Dr. Ashley Smith
Consultant
Ashley is an educational and equity consultant who focuses on customizing engaging learning experiences for all participants by combining design thinking with healing-centered practices. She empowers people to create more equitable spaces for historically marginalized and underserved population groups on campuses, in corporations, and in communities by looking past problems to see the possibilities.
Ashley has a passion for supporting others in becoming the best version of themselves. As an English teacher her students made 2-3 years of growth in 1 year. As an assistant principal she led the district’s Diversity Council, created the content for a Literacy Methods course, led the MTSS team, and specialized in working with diverse population groups. She assisted her teams by finding what is working to build upon that success while exploring what could work better so necessary adjustments could be made.
Dr. Smith received her B.S. from Creighton University, a graduate certificate from the International Institute of Restorative Practices, and her M.A. and Ed.D. from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
